and it was all too short.

over the 4th O july weekend john and i traveled to san diego. (insert 'why did we come back' face here). a family wedding brought us to the beautiful west coast  where we were able to spend time with family and extended family.  john + i shared a space with our sis-n-bro & had some QT pockets time. it was all too hard to narrow down shots of our trip, but here's my best try- 1) sandy + jeff's "i do's" **i actually sang a little ditty at the wedding, if i come across a recording, perhaps i'll post it**   2) they married and receptioned at quite the enchanted location. no words. 3) grams and gramps celebrated 60 years of "i do-ing" - 1/2 way there!! 4) one of  the many beautiful seascapes 5) we walked and jogged on the sunset cliffs edge  6) read our books ocean side 7) enjoyed our little inn and pool 8) cookouts + sunsets enjoyed 9) i sipped my water while john sipped his brew  10 + 11) and pockets hammed it up for all ...

bumpage

since i'm convinced you've grown. here is another update on your progress these were taken a couple weeks ago. . people seem to comment more on my rack   than your bumpage. due to the distraction i have cropped out my rackage. (not to mention i am not really into posting my bra shots on here) not sucking in. sucking in. yes. i don't care people say i'm small - i know you have grown. and yes, i am wearing sweet, nude colored leggings. say what you must.

Things I like.

another set of  things i like . the swab jar . sounds sorta nasty, BUT i love this thing. i was so excited to register for this guy. thank you matt lenz & family for making this one of your purchases.  you have no idea how happy it makes me that our swabs have a tidy home of their own. yes. red, velour jump suits . or any velour jump suits. i used to have quite the collection in college. they weren't cool then either, but i'm sorry, J Lo was on to something as they are so cozy. i also like red wine. orchids . whether or not i can keep them alive is debatable. but i like them. a lot. an oldie, but a goodie. my tv in my nyc studio. not a lot of space. i didn't watch much tv bc i didn't care to. this little guy was blk and wht and $1.00 at a garage sale.  it sounded with some static, but when i had to watch election coverage it did the trick. i'm saddened at the fact that i didn't take it back home with me,  but lack of space was the name of that game...

Paisley Says

this may be one of the last. i have saved it for a while. i don't get to see my dear Paisley as much since i am at my full time gig well,  full time. i'm running around less, but i miss the kid. i hope you appreciate this Paisley Says post as i won't have as many to share. this one sure makes me laugh. 1. it was a rainy eve at bed time. I mean, we watched the thunder and lightening. the rain just poured. it was nice and dark so that probably makes better for a bed time atmosphere. Paisley was in bed and we were just finishing up a touch of a dvd except (part of the bed routine) i hear a loud, amazingly long and wonderful fart come from Paise. I smile, look at her and say  "Hmmmmm, now what was that?" just to see her response. She replies with a mischievous look on her face: "I dunno. Maybe Thunder?!" God bless this story. I tried not to laugh and just went with it b/c I valued her creativity. I reply with a smile: "Hmmm maybe. It was storming...

the day i met an alien.

Image
i guess some people would think it's weird to refer to their child as an alien but - i find it lovingly appropriate. little alien, you had your first (and hopefully only) ultrasound a couple days ago. you look great! in the sense that aliens look great. but, seriously all is good with you growth wise. our tech said you have a nice spine and are 8 inches long. so, uh, a little on the above average side in length which surprised me. never thought i *might* have a tall child. (i guess i am really discounting daddy's genes). i guess you are looking at me saying "wtf, leave me alone in here" to be honest you just look like a skull to me and  i'd be lying if i said i thought this picture was cute. mama doesn't lie. 146 bpm heartbeat. still a girl, but i still think you are a boy. you are  8 ounces  which is pretty average and you look like a little alien. just what i expected. you are squirmy lil thing. which heck, i don't blame you. if i had heat and s...
up downs + up dates. coming off a high of doula training workshop .  (SEE POST COMING... someday...SORRY FOR THE TARDINESS) and then finding a bit of loss. ups and downs. i hold my bellie a little tighter. hearing of miscarriage is never easy no matter how far along and to those you consider the untouchables. a friend of mine said,  "it's one of those things that no one seems to think okay to bring up." i was happy to have a doctor appointment the day after hearing of such news. a little update on you, little one. this week (well, last week, im late)  you have a roughly  140  heartbeat bowen said "you look great" when he walked in the door,  which makes me feel good of course. he is so very thorough even when i don't have  anything to be concerned about. you are all on target. i have gained more than the "normal," (according to babycenter, not bowen) but i don't feel huge or too big and to some degree could still hide being pregnant  by what...
