Paisley Says

remember Paisely ? I got to see my little Paisley Grace today - such a treat! She, like usual, graced me with some funny comments. 1.  Her mom was on a conference call so we were practicing our whispering. I was sitting next to her working on a puzzle and she said "It pells like Miss Taren in here" I snicker and say "really, and what does Miss Taren smell like?" Paisley replies with a pleased smile with a simple "you." 2.  While looking at my tummy she says "Is that what I think it is in there? a baby?" "Why is your tummy getting so big?" I tell her the baby is growing and that makes my belly grow. She replies "How is the baby going to get out?" I throw it back at her and say "How do you think the baby will exit?" She comes up with "the baby probably will slip right out your belly button. You don't have any other holes big enough" 3.  I also learned that little miss P told her ...

Paisley Says

this may be one of the last. i have saved it for a while. i don't get to see my dear Paisley as much since i am at my full time gig well,  full time. i'm running around less, but i miss the kid. i hope you appreciate this Paisley Says post as i won't have as many to share. this one sure makes me laugh. 1. it was a rainy eve at bed time. I mean, we watched the thunder and lightening. the rain just poured. it was nice and dark so that probably makes better for a bed time atmosphere. Paisley was in bed and we were just finishing up a touch of a dvd except (part of the bed routine) i hear a loud, amazingly long and wonderful fart come from Paise. I smile, look at her and say  "Hmmmmm, now what was that?" just to see her response. She replies with a mischievous look on her face: "I dunno. Maybe Thunder?!" God bless this story. I tried not to laugh and just went with it b/c I valued her creativity. I reply with a smile: "Hmmm maybe. It was storming...

"Paisley Says"

and more Paisley-isms for the books. with baby questions on her mind... P: "why you growing a baby in your tummy?" Me: B/c mister john and i thought it would be nice to have a baby." she doesn't completely seem satisfied. ... P: "i don't want to bbsit your baby." Me: "that's ok you don't have to. ill take care of that." P: "your baby will eat all my toys." Me: "no i wont let my baby do that. they will only eat food." (ha! aka and everything else they muster in their mouth...) P: "i don't want your baby to eat all my food." Me: "ill just be giving the baby milk." P: "make sure it doesn't drink all my warm milk." Me: "i will give the baby my own warm milk." seems satisfied. so funny. i then ask if it's a girl or a boy? she pauses and says "it's a durl (girl)." Me: "what should we name it?" P: "charlotte." Me: "that's a...

"take another little piece of my heart now baby"

no, no i am not talking about a break up, boy drama, or my heart being ripped apart or out. i'm talking about Paisley. this could be another version of "Paisley says" -  I have some more of those coming as well. i've known this kid for a little over 4 months or so and  boy, does she sure pull at my heart strings . i'm sure it has something to do with me making a job switch in the near future - which in turn changes our time together. i will be going from 10-12 hour weeks with her to maybe fitting in an occasional 2-3 hours if i am lucky. i am going to try to make it work if i feel up to it,  but i can't imagine not seeing her 1x a week. she's got me wrapped and she's not even mine. i just enjoy being with her and watching and helping her learn and embracing her spirited imagination. yesterday i was putting on her pj's during our normal bedtime routine and she said to me: "miss tawen i need (have) som-ting to tell you." "sure babe...

"Paisley Says"

i will say it again. i adore this kid. there are some kids you that you want everyone to meet. she is one of them. i wish i actually caught all the things she says when we are together, but here are a few of the latest and greatest that make me smile: 1. when i arrived Paisley told me " miss tawen i need to tell you tomthing (something)- i made a mitake" (mistake) and hurt my hand. i checked it out and indeed there was a little blemish. then re-visiting her "mitake" before bed Paisley said  "miss tawen, my hand weally, weally hurts" i asked if a kiss you make it feel better. she accepted my offer and was able to roll over and go to sleep. sweet thing. 2. i was tooling around on Paisley's mom's itunes  as we sometimes take turns singing songs together. I asked who her favorite singer is and she told me it was rihanna. she proceeded to say "when i grow up i want to sing with her and all the girls. no boys" very adamant about this....

"Paisley Says"

I love this 3.5 year old. She seriously makes me laugh and smile so much when I watch her. I think it helps that she can't say her "s" "c/k" and "r" sounds all the time. It makes listening to her even cuter. She talks with such conviction and honesty that it is pretty impossible not to be sucked into her comments. here are a few of yesterday's funny, innocent, honest comments: 1. Before going to bed she likes me to tickle her feet and knee pit. so i do. she says to me "why do you have stripes on your head?" while pointing to my forehead. C: "b/c I am old."  P: "why are you old" C: "because i grew up" P: "why did you grow up" C: "because I was born and was a baby 28 years ago and now I am older" P: "my hair is getting so long. why does it grow?" C: "because everything starts out little and when you get older your hair grows just like your body gets bigger" P: "...

Chalk up another reason why kids are the coolest!

(3.30) Three times a week I watch a 3 year old girl named Paisley Grace . Paisley and I were talking about babies. She actually mentioned how she didn't like babies because they put her toys in their mouth. (NOTE: She did see a picture of my niece slobbering on the same children's toy that she has so this may be where it stemmed from). We had a short conversation about babies and it was pretty innocent. Her pre school teacher recently had a baby so apparently she had been asking her mom the heated questions "Where do babies come from?" "How did I get in there?" "Was I injected in there?" "Why did you and Daddy pick me?" Very innocent, sweet questions.  She was intent on showing me her framed ultrasound picture last night and showing me her itty bitty feet and how "tyute" (cute) she was. It was truly endearing to see her so wrapped up in this. She said "I was in mommie's tummy until I was big enough to live out o...
