september 9th O-six. i won't forget this day. and this is no shot to what we all feel for 9.11... every 9.9 i celebrate a little to myself and let myself drift back. 5 years ago today i moved to nyc. full of excitement. nerves. actually i admit, a little hung over (thanks kathy for the "special martinis" you made on my last night) since around age 16 i always wanted to move to new york city. i hadn't even been there until age 18, but there was a draw. perhaps it was me becoming more involved in music/broadway/singing- who knows. my first visit i fell in love. i lucked out getting a roommate in college who's hometown was 1 hour from the city. so uh, every summer i visited her and the apple. it was quite the nice set up. i worked a year after college and decided job or not i was going. money saved. roommates did the dirty work and found the apartment for 3. one way ticket booked. even now when i think about it i get excited all over again. i cried when i ...

annnnd it's time for  my first "things i don't like" post. fluorescent lites.  gross. why do they exist? and why are they in every work place? "don't try this at home" shopping macys herald square around the holidays. unless of course you like not being able to move. or hear. or think. or breathe. seacrest thinking he is hot shit. clogged old pipes backing up into your kitchen sink. vomit-fest.

...a truck down memory lane and re-hashing a great memory. 2 years ago today, john surprised me multiple times in one day. one of them being a proposal to be his wifey. i obviously said yes. i just re-read my massive email about our engagement festivities and thought I would do an updated post on the event. on May 16, 2009 I had plans to meet my friend Jessie in Central Park  for: coffee a walk and pictures. i was less than a month away from moving home so we wanted to take advantage of NYC and time together. running late gives me anxiety, but it happens all too frequently. it was a rainy morning which pushed back my jog and pushed back our meeting. (luckily "she" was running late too). When I got to our meeting spot  I called Jessie. C: "Hiiii Where are you?"   J:  I am right by the fountain don't you see me?   I say no and try to search harder.  Lots of people are around, however I usually can spot Ms. Coleman.   J:  Wait I see you... ...

Then + Now

it's funny how life changes. it's funnier how i've become so okay with the changes. let's truck it back to May 2009, a trip down memory lane. i had a nice little going away party at the Madhatter in New York City. it was one of our favorite hang out spots. john proposed to me May 16th 2009 and I was already planning to move home June 9th 2009 so i already had this little shin-dig planned to have one last hurrah with all my friends. towards the end of the night when it was a more intimate group, a friend of a friend decided to push my buttons and say "You are going to move to Ohio and live with a white picket fence and have babiesssss!" let's just say this didn't bode well with me and i did not react in the most mature way possible. i got up and pushed him in the stomach in turn spilling his beer on his shirt and him bumping into another person, along with sharing so not so kind words to him. yea. at the time i found it offensive to assume that i w...
