a competitive duo WEEK I

it's back.
the nfl.
i wasn't thrilled at first.
i'm still not thrilled
but i have come to terms with football joining us in the living room every sunday
and thursday
and monday
and well, every night as nfl network flashes across the screen
and "come on man"
and listen to chris burman sound like he may die at any given moment due to his smokey tones
and listen to the commentators pick apart every little thing about the nfl
about the supposed decline of peyton manning
about michael vick's contract
about ochocinco under bill bellicheck
and so on
and so forth...

it was a lot easier to come to terms with the lock out being unlocked when i thought about the brutal reality that nfl network would be on regardless; joining our conversations as an uninvited guest.
so since by default i would be listening to the humdrum repetition of boomer and chris collinsworth beat a dead horse all day, every day i would rather it actually be a real season.

this way, it is less humdrum for me to take in the convo by default.
things will actually be changing.
teams will be playing.
(some things never change tho:
the bengals will continue sucking.
the patriots will continue not sucking.
rex ryan will continue cussing and being obnoxious).

so with the onset of football season john and i have created a match.
he is a lucky man that i am competitive.
i mean if we go to the grocery together
we rip the list in half and see who finishes first
(i may or may not get mad if i don't get to the register first,
but that is beside the point).

originally john and i were going to choose 6 teams from each conference and there was a point system for how far they got etc, BUT unbenounced to us, we have similar taste and well, our choices were too similar and it would come down to the Jets and the Chargers to be the deciding factor.

so we changed the rules.
this one takes a little more commitment, but again since i am competitive and i figure john will let me know who is up to pick each week we will be choosing weekly winners and tracking how we do.

winner gets:

bragging rights
and
choice of restaurant and movie
(chances are it may be our first date night)

haha i love you! this is a competition of W and L's not what team i like better - forgive me!! ATL won the division last year too so it was a tough call, should be a good game, but i doubt i'll watch anything but the Bungles. if it makes you feel better, I almost chose the Browns over the Bengals, but it may be one game they MIGHT get a W.
miss you this weekend xoxox
Katie, I have a hard time picking the Bears this season...at least in this game. Actually, I was hoping that some punk Browns fans (cough, cough) would be responding due to the fact we both picked the superior team to beat them this weekend.

Now where in the world did you get that competitive spirit from? It couldn't possibly be the Kuntz side?

PI turned your dad into a Reds, Bengals and tennis fan or so he let's me think.
