unplugged.

why don't we do this more often?

i often wonder this when we are away and unplugged. (which isn't nearly enough).
literally where we stayed in hocking hills had no service. i didn't know that going into it and it was actually a pleasant surprise. not that we don't want to spend time and talk to each other haha, but it was as distraction free as it could be on 90% of the streets. no checking email, ig or fb to see what other people's families are up to... i got a taste of what my life was like pre-social media craze. and it was nice.

the trip lived up to my expectations (even though i know better than to make them). it was just what i needed. and really just what we needed. we are both very busy right now; we are both working almost full time along with both of us starting our own businesses so let's just say we don't have the "sit-on-the-couch-every-night-relationship" right now. throw a toddler in there and it's a day-to-day juggling match.

it was pleasing to get away from everything and everyone. to be honest i was getting kind of sick of people. (ooops). i was just venting about how there's always a bunch of stuff to do every weekend. while that can be a blessing (family and fun [and chores]) it's also draining. i'm not the type that thrives on going, going, going. and also, it's been since forever that the 3 of us got away like that.

we had beautiful weather.
we hiked 5 miles unintentionally.
we had conversation that was uninterrupted.

of course i brought our nice camera, but didn't want to lug it on the hike so phone-shots it is!

Nice phone shots! Unplugged without ability to cheat - love. What is the story of unintentional hiking?
