3.19.11 "Started spreadin the news..."

Last nite before bed your daddy and I were discussing conception dates – there are only 2 possibilities that, at the time, I didn’t think they were originally in the “window.” He confessed that after one of the coitus events he had a strong feeling the rest of the night and the whole next day that he got me pregnant. Intuition? Your daddy does have pretty strong feelings about things. So I think we are going to with that date. See you late November? I wonder if you will come on Aunt Roe, Uncle Bryan, Ryan, Great Grma M, Mia, Noema or Uncle Pat’s birthdays? You have a lot of people that you potentially may share a day with…

Annnnnd, I told your Aunt Kath about you today. I went to see Annie’s soccer game and I knew if I saw Kath I wouldn’t be able to keep it in. And that was deemed true as soon as I got the opportunity! It’s such exciting news, but so fresh and new that it hasn’t sunk in for me (or daddy) either. I am trying to get used to writing mommy and daddy … doesn’t hurt to start early.

Anyway, Auntie Kath was beyond words excited, but had to lock it up because I had to whisper to tell her since Nicholas + Lizzie were in the other room. She teared up. Precious.

Having someone else excited for us makes it more and more exciting.

We also told our families who are really pumped about Hazel + Baby and Josie getting a cousin! You will be so close in age with them so I know the whole process will be fun. Your grandparents were thrilled and laughed when I told them “So does anyone oppose of having another grandchild?” Great Gramma said “well of course not, are you trying to tell us something!?” Luckily they caught on b/c I am not really great at these announcements.

Tomorrow you will run your first 15K. 
I am going to take it easy on you, don’t worry. We will build up those lungs of course, but not over do it. I am hoping I will be in the small, small % that is lucky enough to miss morning sickness. There is always luck right?! But if it happens I am willing to sacrafice for you, my little tadpole. Just chalk it up to taking it for the team since it’s for a good cause ha ha. You have been very nice to me so far: lots of heartburn and some change in my bowel movements, but we are pretty early. Nothing wrong with positive thinking though!!

I’m still in shock.

waiting for our arrival

over and over again, this theme rolls onward  in my life right now. i feel aligned, mostly positive, gracious and overall pretty happy.  there's been multiple times i wanted to sit and write this piece, but then there's this part of me that says "but what if things didn't work out as you said?" "what if you go broke?" what i have learned my baby's first month

i have a guest post coming about lessons learned in a baby's first year and i started tracking what i was learning because every day seemed like a new lesson. i'm certain this will grow. i have learned: 1. how much more laundry a little makes (not including cloth diapers).  our water bill coming must be astronomical. 2. it's not easy to be the same wife you once were while tending to a little.  our love may be stronger, but it takes more effort. 3. projectile vomiting is common among ferocious eating newborns. 4. large breasts are completely overrated. 5. how much you will melt looking at your husband with his daughter. 6. i'm not sure i can fathom someone else taking care of my child even if it's family. 7. that cheering over and congratulating large burps is a common occurrence. 8. that my driving has tremendously improved (and everyone else has become worse). 9. how fast the days go by because  a) we nap b) there is always something (everything) that ne
