happy hunger games.

it's been such a long time since i was able to get into a book.
mister john was thoughtful and purchased me a kindle for christmas so
i could read and take care of birdie.

a winner, he is.

upon inquiring for book recommendations i noticed the hunger games got a lot of hype.
i decided to start with this one.
and i couldn't be more pleased that people pushed this book.

the title creeped me out and i couldn't imagine what it would be about, but
once i got past the first chapter
i.was.hooked.
and there was no going back.

TODAY IS THE DAY
the hunger games come to life.

...on the big screen.

the moment i saw preview on TV i marked the calendar noting this was out.
...and i may or may not have randomly exclaimed in our kitchen
"i volunteer!! i volunteer as tribute"
knowing mister john and stella had no idea what i was talking about,
but i felt the urge to re-enact part of the preview.

you can judge.

we aren't making it out this weekend to see it, and apparently
it's all sold out in advance anyway.
i'm so excited it might be dangerous.
i've already decided our next child will be named katniss.
(it has a nice ring to it john, don't you think?)

for those of you seeing the show - enjoy!
can't wait to see it and give my own review.

happy hunger games.

ps. adam doesn't read. hates books. however he listened to all 3 of these on tape so that has to say something!
