the birthday party.

burlap and stencils makes the perfect bday sign. and yes, i will reuse this every year thank you.

pinterest is my friend. easy little booklets and picture book decor with ribbon. a friend of mine at posies patches made this bib for stella. she had no idea my plates were brown polka dots and yellow!

more pinterest. i can't take credit where it's not due... but i made up my own verbiage. messy photoshop changing christ's cake to stella's cake. book title food labels - john made his delish chili for all.

who's more excited? moma or bird?

proud of bird for palming her cake. nicely done, child.

a peek at our invite. library theme if you didn't catch it yet. a lil play on no one better than the old Dr. Seuss! a play on library card insert and poking fun at my own little lack of birth announcement. a year OVERDUE eh, better late than never?

my book labels in action: cookies, peanut butter balls, book worms, goldfish, veggies, olives, cheese and berries... and oh yea, chili and cake!

each year we will donate to a charity around stella's birthday. it falls around thanksgiving so it's appropriate we give back. stella loves books so anyone was invited to bring or send a book to donate to a charity. right now we have about 20 books to donate! if anyone is interested in sending something - i can get you our addy. i'm taking inventory on the age level of the books then we will decide what charity.

and the cousins played on! bird is eyeing her cousin sarah (3 weeks older) in hopes of ganking her water bottle. hazel and josie (9 months apart) are tower building machines. sweet dalia and her lovely smile and eyes slept through most of the party on her moma. stella and i open her new caterpillar book!

the first bday was a success - thanks for all who shared and sent birthday wishes. the 3 of us were zonked!!

It was so much fun, and the children were as sweet as sweet can be. Caren, I loved the creativity and festivity. Good food too.

Care! You did a great job on this party! I love the burlap banner! I would like to request one.

Stella is lucky to have a great mom like you to put so much thought into making her birthday meaningful for her AND all the children who will be receiving some great books! You win!
