easter season

this post is a little late since we had two easter celebratory weekends this year and some spring time fun as well. it's been fun to take advantage of the easter festivities in the city with family along with running barefoot in the yard, playing with cousins, and exploring parks and swings.

fun at the park with grands! we are so lucky to have such great parks in cincinnati and our new favorite is in Over the Rhine. it's newly renovated the past year or so and has such great energy and activities.

mamawm, pawpaw, birdie and i had brunch at a favorite coffee spot downtown after the egg hunt that didn't happen for us. lil gal was enjoying hamming it up with the spoon and making friends with folks.

ummmmm, so we went down to OTR for an egg hunt and i neglected to look and see that the age brackets started at age 3, so uh, we hung out with the massive amounts of people in the park and the EB happened to be there.

i'm not the type that will stand in line for a character shot with EB or santa or whomever, but this guy happened to be there and birdy was curious about the large stuffed thing. she was more interested in pointing to his nose, eyes, mouth etc and may have overstepped the boundaries or prodding and poking at this creature, but at the end she wanted to give him a hug. it was sweet since she didn't think of him as a commercialized character.

this is a favorite spot these days. nothing cures a case of the whines like dada's shoulders and tickles with his claw. she belly laughs from way up there. ps this was her easter dress - legit vintage!
my great grandma made it and i believe my aunt sandy wore it along with lea and i and then josie and now stella. i adore it. i pretty much want to frame it if it ever becomes non-wear-able.

there wasn't a dull moment during easter with mister john's family. a 3.5 year old with two 17 months old. bird is surely an active one chasing cousins and trying to keep up with hazel, her older cousin...

some time was spent at washington park in OTR watching the reds opening day (me) and running all over the grass and enjoying the swings! (bird)

oh what fun easter II was - the weather was delightful this weekend! josie (lovingly called jojo) and bird were able to really play and enjoy each other and do it outside! jojo got 90% of the eggs on the hunt, but shared with birdy. they chased each other and stellabird enjoyed dancing barefoot on the deck with her egg.

and then there's this sweet gal, Dal! such a little peach. love her to pieces. before we know it she will be up chasing the other two gals she's 9m and showing signs of walking... watch out world!

and this hilarity! bird is really into sitting in rocking chairs (or standing, eek!) NOT ON A LAP! jojo saw bird and dal sitting and wanted to get in on the action. it was the cutest thing, i had my camera near by and started snapping about a gazillion pics as they were laughing and smiling (never looking and smiling at the camera at the same time of course... wishful thinking?!)

at one point bird had her arms holding dal like this shot and jojo and stella were about to kiss. AND I MISSED THE SHOT! ahhhh, so funny and sweet.

then after a while it was the 'ahh, i can't do this anymore. this is too much work' wiggly little people shot. life is tough when you are under three, folks.

i'm loving this mild, sunny weather. i hope everyone's having a nice beginning to springtime.

Such wonderful memories, and I love the tired Easter babes at the end. I missed the shot of Josie feeding stella from the sippee!

I don't recall wearing the pretty dress, but I hope I did (-: Thanks for sharing your Easter days. It helps me feel connected when living so far away. Countdown to June!
